Songtext
Intro
In the shadow of night I wander Silhouette in the moonlight Marching down this dead road, no turning back
Verse 1
Cold air, cold skin, I'm walking alone Guilt and dust in my lungs like stone Then I see her face in the dark A ghost of gold — a memory come to haunt me
Pre-Chorus
For one breath the garden opens, gold and warm — I'm home I reach for you... but you're already fading The gate slams shut, seals me in the cold Halo broken, angel fallen
Chorus
(Paradise lost, paradise lost) Gates closing, light dying (Paradise lost, paradise lost) In the ashes of Eden we're choking on dust Dust and bones on the floor
Verse 2
The garden's gone — only shadows and stone The incense of your love still lingers, a sweet poison in my lungs I try to hold your halo But it slips through my fingers like smoke
Bridge — GRIM
She's gone — so let the whole cathedral burn Tore her name off every wall, watched the gold turn black No god answered, no light — just ash and the fire in my head The man I was is buried here — GRIM climbs out instead (Paradise lost, paradise lost) We were heaven — now we're hellbound
Outro — GRIM
Dust and bones on the floor Blood in my mouth, the fallen one screams Paradise lost — this is the sound of no salvation (Paradise lost...)
